Zynga Launches Willy Wonka Pokies Game
US-based social games company, Zynga, has launched a new pokie game, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Based on the well-known 1971 film of Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the game is expected to be a hit.
This game is the latest branded social product launched by the company and it is the first to be launched under the multi-year licensing agreement that Zynga signed with Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment in August 2015.
The game is now available via the Apple iStore, Google Play, Facebook and the Amazon App Store and it can be played online or offline with the ability to sync gameplay across any devices through Facebook Connect.
The graphics and symbols will take players right into the heart of the factory with each level of the game bringing players into a new room in the factory. Each room will offer graphics, sounds and even character voices from the film.
“Beloved by generations, the Wonka verse is full of pure imagination and whimsical fun, making it the perfect setting for an immersive social slots experience,” announced Joe Kaminkow, chief games designer and senior vice president of slots at Zynga.
“With timeless characters and scenes inspired by the original film featuring Charlie, Willy Wonka and the other golden ticket winners, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Slots allows players to enter the unpredictable world of Wonka’s chocolate factory, experiencing the movie magic in a whole new way.”
The game was created by the same team that developed Zynga’s Wizard of Oz and Princess Brides slots games. Zynga promised earlier this year that it would launch ten new titles in the coming year that would transform their mobile games business and this game is the first of them.
