Yggdrasil Gaming Secures Gibraltar Gaming License
Yggdrasil Gaming, a casino games developer and subsidiary of Cherry AB, has been awarded a B2B remote gaming license from the Gibraltar Licensing Authority which will allow it to provide its platform and games to operators licensed in Gibraltar.
Yggdrasil has been expanding rapidly over the past twelve months and has signed content agreements with a number of operators in Europe, as well as being granted licenses in regulated jurisdictions. This is the third license it has been granted by a European jurisdiction.
In December 2015, Yggdrasil was awarded a license by the UK Gambling Commission in connection to its Maltese infrastructure and it also holds a license from the Malta Gaming Authority. Its agreements with European operators has seen its expanding its reach with new pokies games, including Joker Millions progressive pokie, Monkey King, Nirvana, Seasons and Vikings Go Wild, as well as the introduction of BOOST, its set of promotional tools.
These additions contributed to the success of Yggdrasil in Q1 of 2016 when it reported a 519 percent increase in revenue compared to the same time last year.
“The Gibraltar license really is an important piece of the jigsaw for Yggdrasil,” announced chief executive of Yggdrasil Gaming, Fredrik Elmqvist. “We’ve had great success in Malta and things have been going really well since we received our UK license in December.”
“Gibraltar is a hugely important jurisdiction with a large number of major operators and we are delighted to become part of the Gibraltar e-gaming community.”
“We’ve established a point of difference compared with other suppliers which will help us achieve our aim of becoming the best supplier in the industry.”
Yggdrasil submitted its formal application for the Gibraltar license in February and had expected to go live in Q2 of 2016.
