UBET Becomes Exclusive Wagering Partner to SA Racecourses
Through a partnership deal with Thoroughbred Racing SA (TRSA), UBET has become the exclusive wagering partner for all twenty three race tracks in the state of South Australia, cementing their support of SA racing.
The agreement was announced on Wednesday at the Murray Bridge meeting by UBET’s chief operating officer, Brendan Parnell.
“Our investment in regional South Australian thoroughbred race tracks will be a million dollar-plus investment over five years,” stated Parnell.
“As the state’s licensed wagering partner, this sponsorship cements our support of SA racing and enables us to support the state’s racing clubs with a significant investment,” he continued.
“During the past six years, UBET has contributed more than $300 million to the South Australian racing industry through product fees, wagering taxes and sponsorships. The racing industry not only supports thousands of jobs around the state, but the clubs themselves are the lifeblood of many communities and we are proud to support them.”
The statewide investment follows UBET’s earlier commitment to the wider South Australian racing industry which includes their sponsorship of TRSA, as well as the newly upgraded Morphettville Junction outlet of the SAJC (South Australian Jockey Club). Mr Parnell described this as a significant component of their investment strategy to create a high quality betting experience in-store, on-course and via digital.
TRSA plans to use the investment from UBET towards a number of worthwhile projects, including upgrades in infrastructure and facilities, which they expect to lead to an improved race day experience for their patrons.
Jim Watters, chief executive of TRSA said “we are delighted and extremely grateful for UBET’s support” and he described this deal as exciting and worthwhile for all South Australian racing clubs, as it will benefit tracks from Roxby Downs to Clare and Kangaroo Island, through to Mount Gambier.
