Two Australians Become Millionaires in Last Monday’s Lotto Games
Last Monday, March 27, was a very good day for two Australians who won multi-million dollar jackpots through the Lotto.
A couple in Warrnambool in Victoria won the TattsLotto draw #3723 for an impressive $4.2 million jackpot prize. They matched up six straight numbers on their ticket which they bought at Northpoint Lotto & Gifts on Mortlake Road in Warrnambool.
“We thought it was a joke, that it can’t be right, that there’s something wrong,” the husband said. “Now that you’ve confirmed it, I feel more excited than I did last night! This is one of the better Mondays I’ve ever woken up on, I can tell you!”
When asked what they would do with the money, the husband said they would pay off their mortgage and help out some family members.
“There’s a few things we’ve got to do. This will really help us. It’s still a big shock.”
The second big winner was a 35-year old public service employee from Bunbury in Western Australia who was the sole winner of the $15 million Division One Oz Lotto jackpot. She told LotteryWest officials that she was feeling down on Monday and so decided to buy the ticket at the Callows Corner Lottery Centre on Queen Street in Busselton.
The next day, she discovered that her number selections matched perfectly to the numbers drawn in draw #1206. She was so shocked that she could barely speak when she called her family to tell them the news.
“No matter how hard you save and how much you budget you’re always just getting by,” she said to lottery officials. “This win means I’ll be able to get out of my shoebox rental and buy my own place. I might even travel – business class.”
“I’m set for life!”
