TopBetta to Launch Tournaments at ICE 2016
Australian pioneer of online fantasy wagering and sports tournament betting, TopBetta, will be travelling to ICE in London in order to launch its tournaments. The company will showcase their fantasy betting platform, designed for social punters.
Based in New South Wales, TopBetta listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in December, an action that took its capitalisation to $19 million. The company has ambitious plans with millions of dollars worth of tournaments scheduled for 2016. They have appointed to their Board of Directors, former media executives Simon Dulhunty from Fairfax Media and Nick Chan from Seven West Media, and Melbourne Racing Club Treasurer Matt Cain.
TopBetta works by allowing punters to buy fantasy currency to bet on live matches and compete against others in tournaments. In addition, businesses can promote their tournaments through TopBetta by engaging their existing customers in online tournaments and promotions on global sporting events, such as the English Premier League, American National Football League and the Indian Premier League cricket.
“It’s designed for the social punter, or weekend warriors as we call them, and it allows them to stay in the driver’s seat rather than competing with bookies,” stated Todd Buckingham, CEO of TopBetta. He added that when it comes to businesses, they can just “promote their tournaments and watch as their traffic earns them money.”
“TopBetta already has millions of dollars worth of tournaments planned for 2016 including on the Premier League and the European Championship,” said Buckingham. “These will all be available for partners and affiliates to run on their own websites. The fact that ICE is such an international event is a major reason for exhibiting. We are a global company and want to have our product in any country that wishes to take it, after all, every country has a passion for sport.”
