Tivoli to Close International Online Casino
Danish-based Tivoli Casino has announced that it will shut its International online casino in April 2016. The exact date for the closure of Tivolicasino.com has not been released, but it is expected to be finalised shortly.
Tivoli Casino was initially launched in Denmark in 2012 and then expanded to offer services to a worldwide audience in 2014. The International casino launched with games from a wide range of software providers, including NetEnt, Microgaming and Play ‘n Go. While the Danish online casino has experienced continuous growth, the international site has not achieved the results expected by the company and it will therefore close.
“Tivoli rapidly built up a significant market position for its Danish online casino,” announced Elisabeth Milton Hemmingsen, Commercial Director at Tivoli. “It was therefore natural to attempt to extend this Danish success story by establishing an International online casino. However, Tivoli’s International online casino has not achieved the desired results. For instance, the deficit has been larger than expected since the start, and consequently, the International casino will now be closed and instead the resources will be focused on the Danish online casino.”
One of the Danish casino’s biggest attractions is its association with the famous Tivoli Gardens amusement park, opened in 1843, in the centre of Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen. The managing company of Tivoli Casino is a subsidiary of the amusement park.
Tivoli is aiming to close their International casino as smoothly as possible in April.
“As we are committed to close down in a controlled and professional way, you can be rest assured that you will be paid all affiliate commissions due on your players referred, for the entire time that Tivolicasino.com remains live,” said Martin Lerby, Tivoli Casino general manager.
