Sporting Index Appoints Simon Trim as New CEO
Leader in sports spread betting, Sporting Index Group, has announced their new chief executive officer as Simon Trim. Trim will take over from Warren Murphy who announced last month that he would step down from his role which he has held for seven years.
Simon Trim has been working for the London-based Sporting Index for the last eighteen years and has been the managing director of their Sporting Solutions B2B trading services division since 2011. In that time, the subsidiary has expanded to offer pricing and trading services to a range of operators, including Sky Bet and William Hill.
“I am extremely proud and happy to be taking on the Group CEO role of such a fantastic company,” announced Trim.
“The Sporting Index Group has always been a quiet powerhouse within the gambling industry offering a differentiated consumer betting product through Sporting Index and under-pinning a lot of the recent in-play growth in the wider market through Sporting Solutions.”
“It has never been in better shape to continue maximising its opportunities in the market and I’m delighted to have been chosen to take it forward.”
Sporting Index is a leader in the provision of sports spread betting options in the UK and Internationally and it currently holds 70 percent market share in the UK.
Under Mr Murphy’s direction, the company went through a transition process related to ownership change. In addition, last year, Sporting Index launched a mobile website to provide its services across all devices. Players can now access their personal information via mobile as it synchronises with the desktop version. Earlier on in the year, they also launched a revamped version of their desktop site. They have announced that they will be adding new features throughout 2016, which will now be under the guidance of Mr Trim.
