Sky Racing World Signs a Deal with Argentina’s Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo
Sky Racing World, a Kentucky-based multi-channel distributor of International horse-racing content within the US and a subsidiary of Australian gambling giant, Tabcorp, has signed a partnership deal with Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo, the oldest horse-racing track venue in Buenos Aires.
Under the terms of the agreement, Sky Racing World will simulcast all races taking place at the track to advance deposit wagering (ADW) brands, as well as racetracks and off-track betting shops across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, the US and the Caribbean.
For the Australian market, the race content from the track will be distributed to Sky Racing World’s parent company, Tabcorp and their broadcaster, Sky Racing, will live broadcast and video stream the events. For the New Zealand market, the content will also be distributed by Sky Racing through the company’s partnership with the New Zealand Racing Board.
“The races at the Palermo track in Buenos Aires are among the highest quality in all of South America, a region where horse-racing is growing in popularity,” announced David Haslett, President and chief executive at Sky Racing World. “We’re excited to partner with Palermo to bring these top tier races to our core market of North America, whose time zones complement the Buenos Aires racing schedule, as well as the core Australasian markets of our parents company, Tabcorp.”
Sky Racing World’s distribution of racing content from the Buenos Aires track to both the North American and the Southern Hemisphere markets is expected to begin in April 2016.
This deal follows a partnership with Spanish-based gambling operator Codere in December 2015 which offered live streaming on races in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Further international partnerships are expected to be announced by the company later in the first half of this year.
