Playtech Sports Appoints Three New Senior Managers
Playtech has expanded and strengthened its sports division with the appointment of three new leaders to their senior management team. The appointments have been made ahead of a series of large-scale Playtech ONE projects and in the wake of the recent acquisition of sports software provider, BGT.
Richard Andrew was appointed the new chief operating officer of the Playtech Sports division. He previously held the position of Head of Betting and Projects at The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Danny Angus will take up the position of chief technology officer of Playtech Sports. He is joining Playtech from rival OpenBet. Eoin Redmond has been appointed by Playtech as Sportsbook Product Director and he has moved from Betfair where he acted at lead product manager exchange and sportsbook.
Playtech has also announced that Peter Greberg has been promoted and will be taking up the position of technical director and head of the company’s operations in Malmo, Sweden.
“The three appointments we have made align with our strategic vision for Playtech Sports and our Playtech ONE technology of creating a simple and intuitive experience for customers as well as creating an opportunity to extend beyond online and mobile into further retail opportunities,” stated Mor Weizer, chief executive of Playtech.
“Ian has done a first class job during his time with us and delivered exactly what we asked; a stronger, consolidated sports business that is capable of delivering the best omni-channel technology offering with the industry’s best talent on board to deliver and implement this across large-scale projects,” announced Mr Weizer.
