Playtech Expands its Virtual Sports Portfolio with Tennis Product
Leading casino games developer, Playtech, is expanding its virtual sports portfolio with the launch of a tennis product. The game has been launched across all channels for play online, on mobile devices and via retail.
Playtech already offers virtual football, greyhounds, horse racing, speedway and velodrome products and has promised that a virtual basketball game will be joining its virtual games portfolio later this year. The company is expecting its virtual tennis game to become a popular choice.
Virtual Tennis has gone live after a year of design and development. The company shot footage for the game in one of Warner Bro’s studios in the UK which they took over for a three week period. With the use of 100 cameras they shot hundreds of hours of footage using a team of sportsmen and women playing in a competitive setting to create realistic action and gameplay. Similar technology and techniques were used in filming the sports footage as were used to film popular action movies such as Avatar, James Bond’s Quantum of Solace and Godzilla.
The outcome of this extended development process is a product that is “as close to the real game as anyone has ever achieved,” according to the company. The product features pre-match betting markets for a full gaming experience.
“Our virtual tennis product is unlike anything the industry has ever seen and feels as if you are courtside watching a Grand Slam,” stated head of virtual sports at Playtech, Elliot Norris.
“The team has done a phenomenal job and we’re delighted and incredibly proud of the results. The graphics are mind-blowing and we are the only company able to offer full sports simulations, meaning that betting and gameplay are as realistic as possible.”
