Play ‘n Go Announces New Pokies Game to be Released in Q3
Swedish casino software provider, Play ‘n Go, has signed a partnership agreement with Danish software provider, Hugo Games, to develop a new pokies title. The game will be based on the popular Danish troll, Hugo, who first aired on TV in Denmark in the 1990s and has since become popular in more than 40 countries around the world.
Hugo is now the character of books, magazines, video games and an animated feature film that is being developed. Hugo Games owns the intellectual property rights to the Hugo franchise.
Hugo, the first real-money game developed for the franchise, will be a 5 reel, 10 payline video pokies game with graphics, animations and sounds from the original animated character. Players are sure to recognise the characters, as well as the environment which will also be depicted according to the original series.
It will be available exclusively for Royal Casino in Denmark and will be available to other markets around the world via Play ‘n Go and direct deals with their operators. Play ‘n Go games are currently available via at least 100 operators and in 32 different languages, making them accessible to a wide range of players around the world.
“We are extremely excited to work on Hugo – a character that many around the world grew up with and remember fondly,” announced chief operating officer of Play ‘n Go, Martin Zettergren. “We can’t wait to bring Hugo and friends to the world of premium slots and I’m certain that the agreement with Hugo Games A/S and RoyalCasino.dk will bear fruit for all parties.”
The game will be developed in Flash and HTML5 with Play ‘n Go planning to release it in Q3 of this year.
