PKR Poker to Join Microgaming Poker Network
Online poker room, PKR Poker, has announced its plans to migrate to the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) later this month. It will move its players from its stand-alone offering to the MPN with the migration planned to coincide with the launch of an upgraded site and two casino brands.
After a decade as a stand-alone poker room, PKR is following in the steps of Grosvenor Casinos which switched to the Microgaming network just a few weeks ago.
“PKR has survived (and sometimes thrived) for ten years as a stand-alone poker room, but neither our staff, investors nor players are content with ‘survival’ and we have ambitious plans,” commented a post on the PKR website.
Moving to the Microgaming network offers many advantages to players. They will still be able to enjoy the 3D poker client, but will have access to six times more fish and three times as many tournaments with more than €3.5 million in prize money available. PKR players will also have access to MPN’s Blaze Poker.
The poker room’s name will change to PKR Poker VIP Club and the loyalty program will be revamped. Gameplay will also change from dollars to euros and players will have the ability to play on anonymous tables. PKR will also be launching two new casinos – PKR Casino and PKR Vegas.
“PKR is a fantastic site,” commented Dan O’Callaghan, PKR Team Pro. “They developed a lot of features such as chip graphs and emotes adopted elsewhere, but like a lot of the euro sites, they were hit hard by countries such as Belgium and Greece segregating online poker and banning foreign sites. Their new ownership seems to be very business savvy, so I know this move will have been calculated and all avenues considered.”
