NYX Expresses Intent in Dutch Lottery Deal
Toronto-listed casino gaming supplier, NYX Gaming Group, has signed a letter of intent to provide gaming content and account management tools to the Dutch lottery operator, Nederlandse Staatsloterij and their De Lotto brand. Established in 1762, Nederlandse Staatsloterij is the oldest and largest lottery operator in the Netherlands.
While online gaming is not currently legalised in the Netherlands, they are expected to introduce legislation to legalise online gambling in the coming year. NYX began to evaluate a deal with Nederlandse Staatsloterij and De Lotto late last year when, in December, they secured approval from the country’s Authority for Consumers and Markets for a merger. The merger is expected to be completed soon and the merged company will create a €1 billion lottery operator. These discussion are in anticipation of the legislation for online gambling and the deal will advance once the legislation comes through.
NYX will integrate their Open Platform System (OPS) with Nederlandse Staatsloterij and their De Lotto brand to provide them with a range of account management solutions and slots and scratchcard games from their wholly-owned subsidiary NextGen Gaming studio. The games will include Foxin’ Wins, Merlin’s Millions Superbet and Jackpot Jester 50,000 and these first three games will become available to their Dutch players immediately.
“It is a privilege to be working with de Nederlandse Staatsloterij / De Lotto to bring NYX’s OPS platform and our market leading content to their soon to be merged business,” announced Matt Davey, chief executive at NYX.
“Global revenue forecasts for the lottery industry recently topped €260 billion. As one of the few gaming content and platform providers with World Lottery Association membership, we are well positioned to work in partnership with national lotteries across the globe.”
