Mr Green Reports Plans to Launch a Sportsbook Product in 2016
Online gambling operator Mr Green & Co AB has announced its plans to expand its online gambling presence with the launch of a sportsbook product. At the same time, the company announced that their current chief executive will stand down in the summer and will be replaced by Jesper Kärrbrink.
The Mr Green sports betting product will introduce a range of betting options including football, tennis and basketball, plus prop bets and esports. Their innovative betting product is expected to distinguish their brand from competitors in the online industry.
“This is a natural expansion of our offering since a large number of our current casino customers also play some form of sports betting,” chief executive of Mr Green & Co AB, Per Norman announced. “We recognise substantial potential for Mr Green to grow on this market also.”
The sportsbook will be launched before the 2016 UEFA European Championship with Norman explaining that they expect this to boost their revenue going forward.
The company reported full year revenue of SEK792.6 million for the year ending December 2015 which represented a 20.3 percent increase from the same period last year. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 1.4 percent to SEK136.8 million. The year ended with strong performance in the fourth quarter with revenue increased by 15 percent to SEK201.1 million.
“The online casino Mr Green increased its game win by 20.3 percent in 2015 and experienced growth at more than double the rate prevailing on the market,” said Norman.
Jesper Kärrbrink will be taking over from Bo Wãnghammar who will continue with other assignments within the Mr Green Group as part of the company’s expansion plans.
“Jesper is a driven leader with extensive experience of online and traditional gaming companies,” announced Norman.
