Microgaming Signs Licensing Deal for Tarzan Brand
Leading casino games software provider, Microgaming, has signed a licensing agreement giving it exclusive rights to develop a branded Tarzan game. Microgaming plans to launch a desktop and mobile pokies game, based on the character, later this year.
The Tarzan pokies game will be based on the new Tarzan film that has just been released in cinemas around the world. The character of Tarzan originally appeared in a novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs in 1912. Since then, he has grown in popularity and has been the star of many films, two Broadway productions, a number of television series and even comic strips.
Microgaming’s chief executive, Roger Raatgever, said the company is thrilled to be developing a game based on the timeless and popular character.
“We could not be more pleased to license Tarzan and his friends to such a quality company as Microgaming,” commented James Sullos, president of Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc, the company that owns the rights to the writer’s written works.
“Their extensive experience in developing online slot games assures us they will build a game that will attract many fans and players to the game from around the globe.”
Raatgever expressed his certainty that the game would be a success with Tarzan fans, as well as operators and players. The prototype for the game has already been developed.
“Our highly talented games team relish working with a new brand, to build a game that celebrates and embraces it,” he said.
The game will include graphics and the unique soundtrack from the film with Tarzan, Jane, Archimedes and many of their other jungle friends making an appearance. Microgaming has also promised Tarzan’s distinctive call and a number of exciting features to be included in the game.
