Magnet Gaming Awarded UK Gaming License
Danish online pokies provider, Magnet Gaming, has been awarded a remote gambling license by the UK’s regulatory body, the UK Gambling Commission. This will allow the company to expand its presence into the UK and offer its range of services to UK-based players.
Magnet was required to obtain the license under a new law passed in October 2014 which required foreign companies providing iGaming services to residents of the UK to obtain a remote gambling software operating license from the Gambling Commission.
“The UK market is one of the biggest and longest-established anywhere in the world,” stated Thomas Nielson, head of game licensing for Magnet. “As a result, its regulatory standards are extremely high and we are very proud to have been trusted with a license.”
“We believe this will be a significant stepping stone for us and we’re confident our games will appeal to a new generation of british slots players and their excellent retention rates will have an impact on the revenue streams of UK-facing operators.”
Magnet is one of only a select few of International suppliers who are licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and thus comply with the 2014 Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act. Magnet has been aiming toward entering the UK market since late 2014 and now it will be able to extend significantly into the UK, offering its expanding suite of games.
Magnet Gaming will be present at ICE Totally Gaming in London next week and their games will be showcased on stands N6-210. These games will include some of their latest pokies titles such as Candy Kingdom, Space Gems and Vikings.
