Ladbrokes Signs Sponsorship Deal with Northern Territory Racecourse
Ladbrokes Australia has signed a long-term horse racecourse naming rights deal that will see the Northern Territory’s Alice Springs Turf Club renamed the Ladbrokes Pioneer Park.
Ladbrokes has already committed to racing in the Northern Territory through a successful deal with the Darwin Turf Club, in the territory’s capital city, which it signed in 2016. This new five-year deal with the Alice Springs Turf Club re-affirms their alliance with Northern Territory racing.
“Racing is a nationwide pastime and that’s why we are so thrilled to partner with race clubs at various ends of Australia,” announced Jason Kibsgaard, chief marketing officer at Ladbrokes. “Racing in the Territory is very unique and at Ladbrokes we pride ourselves on innovation so the ‘Outback Races’ branding of the Alice Spring Turf Club is a great fit.”
There are 34 race meets held at the Alice Springs Turf Club annually, with the feature race and the last of five consecutive weekends of racing, the XXXX Gold Cup Carnival to be held on Monday, May 1.
“I am thrilled to partner with Ladbrokes, especially as the five-year deal is a great endorsement of racing in Alice Springs and the Northern Territory,” said Jason Cornell, chief executive of the Alice Springs Turf Club. “The Alice Springs Turf Club and its members are very proud of the history and legacy of racing at Pioneer Park so it was vitally important to have a respected brand and long-term deal for naming rights.”
Peter Moody, Ladbrokes ambassador and former champion trainer and XXXX devotee also expressed his satisfaction with the deal, saying: “This is a wonderful partnership and I can’t think of many better Aussie racing experiences than having an ice cold XXXX Gold can at Ladbrokes Pioneer Park.”
