Ladbrokes Australia Signs with Another NRL Club
Another Australian National Rugby League (NRL) club has signed a sponsorship deal with bookmaker, Ladbrokes, making Ladbrokes Australia the shirt sponsor of the New South Wales-based NRL premiership rugby league club, the Newcastle Knights, for the remainder of the 2017 season.
This deal with the Knights allows Ladbrokes to continue its marketing and coverage expansion and follows shortly after their sponsorship extension with the Queensland-based NRL club, the Gold Coast Titans, until the end of the 2019 season. While Ladbrokes has been investing in NRL clubs around the country, the Newcastle Knights are the first team in NSW to sign with them. The NRL season began in March and Ladbrokes has secured the final commercial spot on the team’s jersey.
“They are more than a club, they are a community, and they are a team headed in the right direction,” commented Jason Kibsgaard, chief marketing officer at Ladbrokes Australia. “The circle of football life means there will always be ups and downs and the Knights have a strong history and a strong future and that’s the kind of organisation we want to be a part of.”
Under the terms of the agreement, the Ladbrokes logo will appear on the back of the Knights’ team jersey, as well as on the goal posts and corner post pads of home games that play at the McDonald Jones Stadium. With it’s 33,000 person capacity, the deal will provide impressive brand exposure for the company.
“To have a global brand and market leader like Ladbrokes join the Knights is fantastic news for the club,” said Matt Gidley, chief executive of the Knights. “We welcome Ladbrokes into our sponsor family and look forward to sharing our 30th year with them.”
