Intralot Australia Launches First Pre-Commitment Systems
Greek supplier of gaming and lottery systems and content, Intralot, has successfully launched their voluntary pre-commitment systems for electronic gaming machines across Victoria. The system was rolled out this month under the YourPlay brand with 28,500 machines included in the network in the state of Victoria alone.
The roll out has been completed after the contract was signed with Intralot Gaming Services, a subsidiary of Intralot Australia, in August 2014. Earlier this year a live field trial was introduced to test the system in a true environment. Now it has been launched across the state.
“Intralot has a successful track record in the delivery of demanding and challenging projects across geographies,” stated Nikos Nikolakopoulos, Chief Operating Officer of the Intralot Group. “We are extremely pleased to celebrate today the launch of an unprecedented voluntary pre-commitment scheme.”
“We are confident that this is a great asset of the Victorian Government and will strongly support it in its endeavours to enhance Responsible Gaming across the state.”
The Victorian Government has introduced this scheme in an attempt to reduce problem gambling. This system makes it possible for players to limit their spending, create personalised warning messages and track their playing time. The pre-commitment system is voluntary for players, but all electronic gaming machines in the state will be required to offer it.
“The Andrews Labor Government is leading the way when it comes to the rollout of YourPlay,” stated Jane Garrett, Minister for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation in Victoria. “This is just one of the tools we are giving people to reduce gambling-related harm in the community.”
