Frontier Capital Group Appoints New Executive Chairman
Australian-listed casino investor, Frontier Capital Group, has announced the appointment of Henri Ho as their new executive chairman. Ho moves to Frontier Capital from Genting Group where he was an executive.
Ho, who is a certified public accountant and comes to the company with 17 years of experience in the gaming and hospitality industry, mainly at Genting, filled his new position from April 15. He worked for Malaysian conglomerate and global operator of casino resorts, Genting, gaining invaluable experience and knowledge of the casino and gaming industry, which he now brings to Frontier Capital.
In January, Frontier Capital’s shareholders approved its acquisition of Stotsenberg Leisure and Hotel Corp, the holding firm for Hotel Stotsenberg and Casablanca Casino in the Clark Freeport Zone in the Philippines, for $26 million.
The casino features two VIP rooms, 190 pokie games and 36 gaming tables, while the hotel has 239 rooms and a convention centre. Ho’s appointment comes while Frontier Capital Group is in the midst of finalising its plans for the takeover of the property.
Frontier Capital is planning to introduce proxy betting – also known as live telephone betting – at the casino. This will allow VIPs to call in to the casino to place their bets with on-site partners who will then provide real-time card information to the gambler at home. Currently, in the Clark Special Economic Zone where the Frontier Capital’s new casino operates, there is only one casino that offers proxy betting for its VIP players, despite the fact that proxy betting accounts for up to 50 percent of all VIP gambling activity in the Philippines.
According to the company’s filing with the Australian Stock Exchange, Ho’s salary will be paid by E!xcite Gaming and Entertainment Inc. which manages and operates Stotsenberg Hotel and Casablanca Casino.
