Contagious Gaming Licensed to Offer Sports betting in the UK
Gaming software provider, Contagious Gaming, has announced that it has been awarded a Combined Remote Operating License by the UK Gambling Commission. The license will allow their subsidiary Contagious Sports Ltd to offer online sports betting, operate an online casino and supply virtual sports products in the UK.
The company already holds a Remote Gambling License to provide facilities for pool betting and for manufacturing, supplying, installing and adapting gaming software.
Contagious Gaming has been expanding in the last few months with the acquisition of German sportsbook software provider Digitote which gave it access to the xTurf wagering platform and through their partnership deal with Sportradar for their range of virtual sports products. They have also expanded their product range in recent months and an upgraded version of their core Goal Time products is expected to be launched soon.
The company recently reported increased revenue in the third quarter ending December 2015, of C$678,000, an increase of 214 percent compared to the second quarter. Their adjusted earnings loss dropped 40 percent to C$272,000 and their earnings loss improved ten percent to C$696,000. The company expected even greater improvement, but their bid to acquire Sportech PLC, the Liverpool-based pool betting operator fell through in November.
“Securing the expanded gaming license is an important step for the company as it allows us to maximise and expand our technology from our existing pool betting offering by adding additional gaming opportunities,” announced Peter Glancy, director and chief executive at Contagious.
“[It] allows the company to deploy and operate a comprehensive set of online gambling products, including virtual sports, casino and live in-play sports book on a white label and direct basis.”
