Betfair Partners with Barcelona Football Club
UK-based online gaming operator, Betfair, has been announced as the new official betting partner for Spanish Liga football club, Barcelona. The agreement will last for the next three seasons, ending in 2019.
Under the terms of the agreement, Betfair will be granted access to a selection of image association rights, as well as branding exposure on all domestic matches played at La Liga champion’s home ground, Nou Camp via the LED system of the stadium and the club’s digital channels. They will also be granted access to first-team players for promotional purposes, including content for marketing campaigns.
“FC Barcelona is delighted to sign a long-term collaboration agreement with Betfair, a prominent leading company in the field of sports betting,” announced Manel Arroyo, vice president of marketing and communication for Barcelona.
“We hope our members and all football lovers will enjoy this new global partnership, as well as exclusive promotions and unique sporting experiences.”
Betfair has signed other similar deals in the past, most notably with UK football clubs, Manchester United and Liverpool. Last season, it was also the betting partner of five UK Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Aston Villa, Southampton, Sunderland and Leicester City which went on to become the League champions. The latest agreement with Barcelona came into effect on July 1.
