Australian Player Wins the Sixth Million From PokerStars in a Week
A lucky Australian has become the sixth winner this week at PokerStars in their Spin and Go Anniversary celebrations to take home a million dollars.
PokerStars, the largest online poker room in the world, is celebrating a year of its lottery-style Spin and Go tournaments. Since the celebrations began, it has made millionaires of six lucky players with the latest, ifipushud325, an Australian, taking home the latest million.
The Spin and Go poker tournaments involve three players and are played at hyper-turbo speed. The randomized payout schedule offers prizes of 2x to a few thousands of times the buy-in, but PokerStars is now offering even bigger prizes to selected players. A year after these tournaments were introduced, million dollar first prizes are standard for its biggest games with players able to win up to 10,000x their buy-in.
As part of the celebrations, PokerStars is offer million dollar prizes not only for its $100 buy-in tournaments, but also for its 50c and $5 buy-in Sit and Gos. These promotional $5 tournaments are designed to award the $1 million first prize once in every ten million tournaments, but in a week of play, it has already awarded it four times.
The Australian winner was playing against ModusPonen7 from Germany who took second place and FlyEko from Russia when he won on hand #66. Both other players took home $100,000.
Other winners at PokerStars this week include a German player on October 26 in a $5 buy-in and a player from Estonia in the $100 buy-in on October 26; a player from England in a $5 tournament on October 25; a player from Brazil in a $100 tournament on October 22 and a player from Brazil in a $5 tournament on October 21.
