888Poker Partners with Swedish Poker Federation
The two-year deal will see 888Poker take over hosting the online events from Amaya-owned Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars, who for the past few years have hosted the online poker series and the satellite events for the live part of the championship.
“I’m very excited that 888Poker is becoming our partner for the coming two years,” commented Mauritz Altikardes, chief executive of Poker Events, the coordinator of Poker-SM.
“I believe that this is exactly what the Swedish Poker Federation needs, a committed partner that wants to support the online community and grow with it.”
Poker-SM features a wide range of poker events, including the online portion which itself features twelve events. The online portion will run from May 24-30. These will include a freeroll tournament to begin the schedule of events with the winner walking away with a ticket into the 2016 PSMO Live Event to be held in Malta later this year. It will also include two satellite tournaments on May 24th and May 27th which will offer at least two guaranteed seats into the PSMO Main Event.
The $160 PSMO Main Event will run for two days over May 29-30 and will offer a deep-stacked structure with 20,000 starting chips and blind levels of thirty minutes. Besides for winning the main prize, the winner will be awarded a ticket into the PSMO live event in Malta this year.
The majority of events will be played in no limit Texas hold’em, with just three events played in the different variants of pot limit Omaha, pot limit Omaha hi-lo and a combo event with no limit hold’em and pot limit Omaha.
